From time to time Patience gets inspired to write poetry. Inspiration does not come often and often times come late at night or in the wee hours of the morning. Here you will find some of Patience’s thoughts in the form of verse.
For Will
Written: April 10, 2003
My little brother you will always be You joined the Marines and now a hero I see. As you fight for basic fundamental rights Iraqi Freedom is now in sights. Mixed emotions is what we feel Now we are grateful for every meal. Fear for your safety for what you do there We send you this poem so you know that we care. Every day in our thoughts you will always be Your safe return we want to see. We love you more than words can say And hope we made you smile today. We love you Will!
Apart
Written: November 15, 1997
Two lives intertwined yet many worlds apart. So much confusion that plagues the heart. How can we see the future when the present is so clouded? How can we move ahead if we can’t get beyond the past? Love, hope and faith they make dreams come true. If this is so then why must we ache? A longing so strong for feelings so deep. Memories shared forever to keep. Two worlds apart and yet intertwined. How do we find the way to our hearts?
Spinning

Spinning spinning Round and round dazed and confused nowhere to be found. Spinning spinning Round and round It’s getting so hard to just come down Spinning Spinning Round and round it’s getting so quiet there is no sound.
Gone
Written: October 27, 1997
The darkness comes and light makes haste the shadows appear Which one is me? How do I find the light that once shown for me? How do I see the fate that was once before me? A life gone by A dream that faded A hope that died How do I get them back? A love that is lost and is yet to be found A world so vast and yet so confined A waterfall of tears that adds to the mist The shadows move slowly as if looking for their own light Every now and then you bump into another With sad solemn eyes What is their story? It’s forever untold lost in a sea of darkness and lost from love forever. Still searching for the light but it’s gone from me It’s gone…. gone… gone..
Come
Written: July 18, 1997
Come thunder Come lightning Come wind Or come rain Feel the mystical powers that run through my veins As it seers down and scorches the earth the lightning’s mystery draws nearer feel the power feel the heat it takes hold of me mesmerized and charmed by the beauty within streaking across the sky for to behold the mortal, I A flicker of light a flash in the sky a vision to see and be mystified.
Full Circle
Started: December of 1997
Finished: Fall of 1998
A heart that aches and feels the burn. So much to give, and more to learn. On two different plains. Thoughts no longer clear. Going down different paths. Never to be near. A heart that loved, but the other was lost. And now fate has changed. But at what cost. Dreams that have faded. And hope that has died. Now all this hatred and many tears cried. On yonder horizon a ray of light can be seen. Hope for a new day That’s not just a dream.
Frozen
Started: August 1999
Finished: November 1999
Frozen by fear Unable to speak; The words I must find And yet I still seek. Needing to express The depths of my heart; To you I must impress What I feel when we’re apart. Scared to admit that I care That good men do exist; Knowing you’re always there My feelings are true; This I must insist. Those three little words I long to say; Yet they always escape me The words from my lips There must be a way Why can’t I say them Why must this be Just three little words They are simple but true Only said when genuinely meant Just three little words; They are “I love you”.
Our Love
Started: August 1999
Finished: November 1999
Like a flower blooms in spring So shall our love grow over time. Like brush fires sweeping in a heat oh so dry So shall our passion burn with each other’s touches. Like cars speeding fast ‘round a winding track So shall our hearts race when near one another. Like children blowing bubbles at warm picnic time So shall we become giddy from each other’s laughter. Like ice in a glass on a hot summer day So shall we melt at the sound of one another’s voices. Like time for eternity keeps always ticking So shall our love forever remain.
My Love
Written: November 20, 1999
In my dreams, my love, I see you. Like a whisper in my mind, my love, I hear you. Like a warm blanket on a cold December day, my love, I feel you. Handsome and tall you are, my love, tonight in every way. Tender and quiet your voice, my love, and all you have to say. Soft and heated your touch, my love, when you brush my skin that way. My love, can you see me? My love, can you hear me? My love, can you feel me? To you in my dreams I come, my love. Fair of skin, pale blue eyes and hair of amethyst deep. To you I whisper, come my love, and play in a slumber for keeps. To you, my love, I give a kiss with passion and desire. Electricity runs rampant, my love, as we set this place on fire.
Indecision
Written: December 29, 1999
Bring to a pause my restless mind with your glance it is calm that I find. When you are near I start to glow and the world around us starts to slow. Your gentle ways are just what I need to control the thoughts that come with great speed. My mind always whirling like wind in a storm always with visions that seem quickly to form. With your eyes you give me a caring hug and at my heart strings emotions do tug. And so it is that I am torn in two no idea in the world of what I should do. Soft and mild you seem to be yet heat and fire my soul needs to see. Not wanting to judge to fast and in haste hard to find are good hearts and are not to waste. And so as the story of life seems to go time shall tell if YOU can make my soul glow. With this wait we will hopefully see if this tale is what shall truly be.
Memories
Written: December 29, 1999
Time burns a wound deep in my heart that cuts like a knife when we’re apart. Memories of you that once we shared of a time when we loved and very much cared. We spoke of fairy tales and dreams come true and all this heart sees are tears of blue. Words once whispered that seemed so sincere that were shattered by darkness brought on by fear. Red was the angry words said in haste understood now is that time’s not to waste. So many moments are precious and few as were those memories shared with you. Emotions so strong and held back by fear loving you always and wanting you near. Now all this sadness for what was lost knowing that mistakes do come with a cost. Time has kept going and so have we moving on with our lives with so much to see. A part of my heart you shall always keep and with the pain from my wounds it still seeps. Forever in my heart and soul you will stay and for love and happiness I shall always pray. May you find what I seek for yourself as well. Memories to keep but on pain we’ll not dwell.
Until Tonight
Started: June 15, 1999
Finished: June 16, 1999
Enchanted dreams. Enticing visions. Dim lit nights And graceful dances. Reality becomes fantasy. And in one moment However brief, I held you. A peaceful stroll along a tranquil stream A silent breeze That chilled the air. Alas I feel nothing but warm and safe as you held me there. At last reality must take hold And fast the dreams shall fade. In that last moment you smile at me. And whisper in my ear, “Until tonight, My Love. Now don’t you fear. We’ll see what dreams shall come.” The sun’s warm rays slowly begin to shine Lovingly caressing my cheek, While from my slumber I awake. And to myself I whisper, “Until tonight, My Love. When in dreams we shall have each other.”
